My Business Pivot Story: How I Changed My Business Direction

The post success identity crisis is real, just like entrepreneurial burnout. And it’s not what most successful coaches and founders talk about.

From the outside, everything looked perfect in my multi-six-figure per year online coaching business.

I had clients I genuinely loved and many of them became my friends. Revenue was steady. My calendar was full. People would have called me successful, and I was.

But years into my business coaching journey, deep inside of me something felt off. I felt this nagging sense of disconnect, like I was only showing up at 50%. Like there was this whole depth to me, my intuition, a more raw way of leading, more vulnerability that had no place in my business.

And honestly? I didn’t even realize how deep that problem was I was until everything fell apart.

The Burnout That Fueled Change

I hit a massive burnout. When I say a massive burnout, I mean I couldn’t even function for a period of time. I couldn’t even drive. And no, the exhaustion didn’t come from my workload. I’m a premium business coach, I charge high-ticket prices, I work with clients on my own terms, I’m good with my boundaries.

It came from external stress that completely knocked me sideways, the kind of life stuff that forces you to stop, whether you want to or not. It really was outside of my control, and it knocked me out.

And when I finally stopped, I had to go inward. I didn’t have a choice. The only option was to sit with what was actually happening inside me, underneath all the doing and performing and showing up.

That’s when I realized that it was time to pivot my business. But how? And to what? I had no answers at a time.

The only thing I knew was if I hired more business coaches, I should get better results. That’s what I’ve always done. That’s what helped me grow to almost 7 figures. But this time, it didn’t work…

Let’s Hire More Business Coaches!

I ended up signing up to a lot of business programs hoping extrernal strategies would help me solve my internal crisis.

$12K for an IG ads program. $10K for a Youtube ads program. $6K to a social media agency. $7K to another business coach. And on and on and on.

And it’s not that it wouldn’t work.

It’s that I changed. I was trying to solve an internal crisis with external tactics. Trying to scale a business that didn’t feel like mine. Trying to show up consistently when I didn’t even know who I was showing up as anymore.

You can have the best ads strategy in the world, but if you’re disconnected from yourself, you’re just amplifying a message that doesn’t feel true. You’re attracting clients to a version of you that you’re already outgrowing.

The strategies weren’t the problem. I was the missing piece.

And no amount of programs, frameworks, or systems was going to fix that until I went inward and did the work to reconnect with who I’d actually become.

What I Found When I Went Inward

I started doing deep identity work. I have a degree in Psychology, so I went back to my depth and psychology roots. I’ve started to have IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy and I signed up to the IFS program. I worked on healing my traumas and my fragmented parts. I’ve studied somatic practices and got certified. I got certified as a trauma-informed coach.

And no, this kind of work that doesn’t give you a quick fix or a five-step business framework. It’s quiet. Gradual. Inward-orientated at first. I didn’t have clarity for months. I just sat with the void and made friends with it. I wasn’t going to rush anything, even though the money pressure was starting to build and become more real.

And the more I reconnected with those suppressed parts of myself, the more I healed, the more energy I started to feel again. Not the forced, hustle-your-way-through-it energy. Real energy. Vision. Clarity about what I actually wanted to create. My new leadership style. And a business that started to feel mine.

The Part Where Everything Had to Change

Here’s the thing no one tells you about deep inner work: once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Once I reconnected with the fullness of who I was, I couldn’t go back to showing up the old way. It felt physically impossible.

I tried. I really did. I thought maybe I could just tweak things, hire yet another business coach, run more ads, adjust my messaging a little, shift my offers slightly, keep most of what was working.

But it didn’t work like that.

Because the disconnect wasn’t in my business. It was in me. And when you change at that level, everything else has to follow.

What I Had to Let Go

I had to stop hiding my intuition, my unconventional methods, the parts of my work that didn’t fit neatly into a framework.

I had to stop performing “successful coach” and start actually leading from who I’d become.

I had to admit that I was going to coach my clients in a new order – identity work, then leadership, then aligned premium offer that would fit with who they are.

And honestly? That was so new to me.

I re-wrote my website copy about 50 times. I was wondering how I was going to bridge the two worlds – Soul and business, inner and outer.

When you step into the fullness of yourself, you risk losing people. You risk being misunderstood. You risk putting something out there that feels too you—and wondering if anyone will actually want it.

But here’s what I learned: the parts of you that you think are “too much” are exactly what premium clients are looking for.

What Happened When I Finally Showed Up Fully

Right away, I had a new premium client who came out of nowhere. She signed up right away because she felt connected to my energy.

I stopped hiding and started leading from my actual depth. I got an invitation to a podcast, and a summit.

Not overnight. Not in some dramatic “I made six figures in a month” way. But in a way that felt real.

My messaging became clearer because it wasn’t filtered through what I thought I should say. It was just… true.

My clients started to reflect my new direction. Instead of more surface-level interest, I was getting deep resonance. People weren’t just saying “this sounds good”—they were saying “this is exactly what I’ve been looking for.”

My offers changed because I stopped trying to fit into someone else’s template. I raised my prices. I built programs around the way I actually work, the depth I actually bring, the transformation I know is possible.

And for the first time in years, I felt connected in my business. Fully present. Fully myself.

Not performing. Not holding back. Just… leading. Real, raw, and deep.

Yes, I’m sharp when it comes to business. And I’m also deep, intuitive and sensitive. I combine Psychology, IFS, deep identity work that shapes you into a raw and authentic leader AND we add strategy on top of it. Not one or the other, but BOTH.

The Real Cost of Playing It Safe

Here’s what I didn’t realize until I went through this:

Playing it safe doesn’t actually keep you safe. It just keeps you small.

When you suppress the parts of yourself that make you unique—your intuition, your unconventional approach, your depth—you’re not just hiding from judgment. You’re hiding from the clients who are specifically looking for what you have.

Premium clients aren’t buying credentials or frameworks. They’re buying the fullness of you. They want the depth that you have within.

And when you step into that? When you finally let yourself be seen at that level?

That’s when everything changes.

If You’re Feeling That Disconnect

If you’re reading this and something is resonating—if you feel successful on paper but disconnected inside—I want you to know: it’s not about working harder or fixing your business.

It’s about reconnecting with the parts of yourself you’ve been suppressing.

The depth you’re not expressing. The intuition you’re second-guessing. The way of working that feels most alive to you but doesn’t fit the “right” way to do things.

And your next premium offer that you can charge even more for? You can create it too. And this time attract even more aligned premium clients.

What Comes Next

That the version of your business that got you here isn’t the one that’s going to take you forward.

Rebuilding my business from this place wasn’t about starting over. It was about finally letting my business catch up to who I’d become.

And that’s the work I do now—helping coaches and practitioners who’ve hit that same wall. The ones who are successful but feel disconnected. The ones who know there’s more depth to their work but don’t know how to let it come through without blowing everything up.

Because here’s the truth: you don’t have to blow it all up. But you do have to be willing to let go of the version of your business—and yourself—that’s keeping you safe but small.

And when you do? When you finally step into the fullness of who you are and let that lead?

That’s when you become the kind of leader premium clients are ready to hire.
